Journeys for an Optimized Oracle Cloud HCM User Experience

An Overview of This New Feature

Oracle HCM Journeys

Oracles Human Capital Management (HCM) Journeys is a feature that guides employees in successfully automating both professional and personal workforce management tasks involved in talent management and HR business processes. From hiring to retiring employees, Journeys is a comprehensive suite of tools designed to support HR teams in managing the entire employee experience lifecycle , from recruitment and onboarding to development and offboarding.

The platform includes a wide range of business intelligence features and tools that can be customized to meet any organization’s user experience and business needs. Here, we’ll explore:

  • How Journeys differ from checklists
  • How to leverage personal Journeys
  • Break down Contextual Journeys versus Guided Journeys
  • How to add noteworthy points while implementing cloud service enhancements like those released in 22D.

One of the key features of Oracle HCM Journeys is its ability to automate and optimize important HR processes. This includes human resources and project management tasks like job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and new hire paperwork. These tasks are made easy by walking users through varied tasks with guided instructions. By automating these tasks, HR teams can save more time and reduce human errors, allowing more time to focus on strategic initiatives and critical decision-making that impacts growth.

Another critical aspect of Oracle HCM Journeys is its focus on employee development and change management. The platform includes tools for performance management, training and development, and career development planning. HR teams can harness these tools to help employees grow and develop their skills and decision-making, improving retention rates and driving business results.

A friendly customer experience means Personal Journeys can be created for a particular employee to have all tasks assigned to them by Human Resources and their line manager. With the ability of two routes, you can leverage an existing Journey or develop a new journey in line with your company’s unique requirements under the explore tab. This is a popular option with employees as they can add and try out private scenarios to them as internal users.

GUIDED JOURNEYS VERSUS CONTEXTUAL JOURNEYS

Contextual Journeys are also helpful for specific tasks that need to be performed before the following action can occur, as they are associated with a Quick Action. This is particularly useful for HR specialists to leverage checklist templates or create a checklist.

Guided Journeys vary from Contextual Journeys in that there are no rigid steps that must be taken in a precise order to trigger the next. Guided Journeys provides a pathway through tutorials, company policies, and best practices in an HCM flow using guided journey tasks. This can include, for example, tasks to help a line manager transfer an employee. Contextual Journeys offer a more flexible approach to completing tasks, allowing you to configure tasks that need to be performed by different task performers.

In addition to these features and Journey pathways, Oracle Journeys also includes various analytics and reporting tools. HR teams can then track key metrics like employee engagement, turnover rates, and training effectiveness. With this data, HR teams can make data-driven decisions and continuously improve their processes and programs to modernize more effectively.

One of the benefits of Oracle HCM Journeys is that enterprise-level organizations across industries can use it. The platform is highly customizable and can be tailored to meet the specific needs of each organization. Customizable items include workflows, reporting dashboards, and integration with other HR systems for similar tasks like end of year payroll processing.

Oracle came out with additional enhancements to Journeys in the 22D release that are helpful for your organization to leverage. A fundamental improvement was adding advanced tasks with a blend of task types. Additionally, there is a vast improvement for the compensation module, where you can now add both Contextual and Guided Journeys for compensation flows such as Salary History, Compensation Info, and My Compensation. Furthermore, you can implement surveys known as ‘Touchpoints’ and deep links with parameters and allow for template-based security.
