PeopleSoft Fluid User Interface New Features for HCM

What is PeopleSoft Fluid User Interface (UI)?

PeopleSoft Fluid User Interface (UI) is a modern and mobile-responsive interface introduced by Oracle for PeopleSoft Applications. PeopleSoft Fluid UI provides a user-friendly experience across various devices, including desktops, tablets, and smartphones. Focusing on responsive design principles, Fluid UI automatically adjusts and optimizes its layout based on the screen size and device type. This adjustment allows users to access and interact with PeopleSoft applications on different devices, without compromising the applications functionality.

There are countless characteristics that make PeopleSoft Fluid UI successful; however, key application capabilities include:

  • Responsive Design: Fluid UI adapts to different screen sizes and orientations, ensuring proper application performance across devices
  • Tile-Based Navigation: Fluid UI employs a tile-based navigation structure where users can access different application components and tasks
  • Fluid WorkCenters: Fluid WorkCenters provide a consolidated view of related tasks and information, enabling users to effectively manage work
  • Fluid Pages: Fluid Pages are designed to be responsive and adaptive, providing an optimal viewing and interaction experience no matter the device
  • Fluid Components: Fluid UI offers a wide range of fluid components that can be used to build responsive and user-friendly interfaces
  • Fluid Forms: Fluid Forms provide an intuitive way to capture and display data

Notable Features in PeopleSoft Fluid User Interface (UI) for HCM

PeopleSoft Fluid User Interface offers different features for simpler and more effective user facing capabilities. These features include Fluid Performance Management, Fluid Job Modernization, Fluid Profile Management Search, Fluid ePerformance, and so much more. However, there are two helpful new Fluid UI features you should know about.

Both Fluid Performance Management and Fluid Job Modernization are extremely beneficial to users as they look to streamline work processes without compromising quality. Take a look at these feature breakdowns below:

Fluid Performance Management

Fluid Performance Management is beneficial to users for many different reasons. First and foremost, this feature is extremely efficient as the entire process can be accessed through your phone, tablet, or laptop just by clicking on the performance tile in Employee Self Service (ESS). Employees can even fill out their documents by speech if their device allows for it, so typing can be completely avoided. This allows users to complete time sensitive documents without racing into the office or to their desktop.

Another relatively new area within Fluid Performance Management is Fluid Writing Tools and Language Checker. This feature allows for comments, development tips, and spell checks when writing final evaluations. The Writing Tools and Language Checker tools can be especially effective when you’re looking for the perfect word or phrase, but simply can’t think of it. Fluid Job Modernization

PeopleSoft Fluid Job Modernization came out in PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) Image 36. However, Oracle has recently stopped supporting the Classic Job Data, so clients must now make the switch to Job Modernization. In the Job Modernization feature, Job Data is now fluid and has a configurable search feature, as well as an Activity Guide that streamlines the data entry for Job and aids in validation.

Working to minimize customizations, you can now add attachments within Job. Additionally, one of the most notable changes in Job Modernization is the new ability to review and approve job transactions. All these capabilities can be accessed under the Manage Job Tile by HR administrators for quick and easy use.

Lastly, Job Modernization now has its own Installation Table for easier feature maintenance and management. Overall, PeopleSoft Fluid Job Modernization improves the user experience, accessibility, and efficiency in managing job-related processes within PeopleSoft HCM.
