PeopleSoft PUM Image Update and Continuous Delivery Support

Wynn Resorts, Limited (Wynn Resorts), is a developer, owner and operator of destination casino resorts that integrate accommodations and a range of amenities, including dining outlets, retail offerings, entertainment theaters and meeting complexes. Wynn and Encore Las Vegas feature two luxury hotel towers with a total of 4,750 spacious hotel rooms, suites and villas, approximately 192,000 square feet of casino space, 21 dining experiences featuring signature chefs and 11 bars, two award-winning spas, approximately 290,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, approximately 106,000 square feet of retail space, as well as two showrooms; three nightclubs, a beach club, and recreation and leisure facilities.

Scope of the Project

Elire and Wynn first engaged with each other at the 2017 Quest COLLABORATE conference, and subsequent meetings were set up to discuss PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) Updates and PeopleSoft Lease Administration, among other topics. Elire was selected by Wynn to help them get current on the latest PeopleSoft FSCM Image at the time. They would be jumping from Image 10 to Image 27, and required a Trusted Partner that could guide them through the myriad of changes across 17 images. Wynn was also looking to setup a Continuous Delivery Model (CDM) to streamline future Image updates. Elire was also contracted to concurrently implement PeopleSoft Lease Administration in order to be compliant with the ASC842 Lease Accounting changes coming into effect.

The Challenge

The Wynn IT department runs a very lean shop, with a minimum number of resources dedicated to the administration and support of PeopleSoft. This required the PeopleSoft resources to work with Wynn’s IT staff to perform the steps required to implement the latest PeopleSoft 9.2 Image, while allowing Wynn’s staff to perform their day-to-day support and tasks. There was also the challenge of introducing many of the new features introduced by PeopleSoft across 17 image updates. Wynn had been delaying updating their PeopleSoft system, therefore making the large leap from Image 10 to 27 more complex and time-consuming.

Success Delivered

Elire was able to successfully help Wynn update their PeopleSoft Financials systems to Image 27 in only three months, while concurrently working on the PeopleSoft Lease Administration project. Elire was also able to setup a CDM to make future Image updates quicker and more automated. Elire and Wynn continue to work together to support many of Wynn’s PeopleSoft and IT needs.
