Using Redwood in PeopleSoft

PeopleSoft Payments Roadmap Assessment and Implementation
St. Elizabeth Healthcare is one of the oldest, largest, and most respected medical providers in Northern Kentucky. Founded with one small hospital in 1861, St. Elizabeth Healthcare now operates five facilities throughout Northern Kentucky – St. Elizabeth Covington, St. Elizabeth Edgewood, St. Elizabeth Florence, St. Elizabeth Ft. Thomas, and St. Elizabeth Grant. Sponsored by the Diocese of Covington, St. Elizabeth Healthcare provided more than $104 million in uncompensated care and benefit to the community in 2015.
St. Elizabeth Healthcare engaged Elire to conduct a roadmap project that would identify any existing gaps in payments processes. During this roadmap project, Elire identified 124 disconnects with 26 business processes. As a result, Elire recommended the implementation of PeopleSoft Cash Management and PeopleSoft Payment Requests, which would optimize bank statement reporting, bank relationship management, cash positioning and payment processing via checks, ACH, and wires.
Roadblocks within this project were minimal, as the client provided engaged participation throughout the process.
In the fall of 2016, PeopleSoft Cash Management was implemented which led to a redesigned bank SETID, real time cash positioning and forecasting for liquidity management, a centralized system for payment processing and billing via the financial gateway, and an automated reconciliation for bank statements.
In January 2018, the final project was completed after the implementation of the PeopleSoft Payment Requests module. With this module implemented, Elire was able to convert payment requests and approvals from a manual process to an automated process supported by PeopleSoft. This transition towards automation significantly reduced processing time and manual effort for St. Elizabeth Healthcare. By providing robust training and support on how to use electronic payment requests, Elire set up a foundation for the growth of St. Elizabeth Healthcare’s future payments landscape, and the shift to an automated payment request and approvals enhanced payments process efficiency which solved the disconnects in St. Elizabeth Healthcare’s business processes.
