Oracle Fusion Cloud EPM Transformation
Kamehameha Schools (KS) partnered with Elire to implement Oracle Fusion Cloud EPM as part of a unified ERP and EPM transformation completed in an accelerated 14-month timeline. The scope extended well beyond a standard implementation, encompassing enterprise planning, close, data governance, reporting, and analytics capabilities. Key EPM components included Planning (planning, forecasting, long-range planning (LRP), and allocations), Account Reconciliation, Enterprise Data Management (EDM), and Narrative Reporting solutions.
Elire worked closely with KS to design and deploy integrated EPM solutions that connected directly with Oracle Cloud ERP and KS’s cloud-based HCM system. This included building person-based labor planning models, designing connected and bi-directional cost allocation frameworks between ERP and EPM, implementing enterprise-wide reconciliation processes, and establishing EDM as the central governance layer for charts of accounts, hierarchies, and master data across applications. In parallel, Elire supported KS in developing a structured reporting strategy to govern how data is consumed, validated, and optimized across Oracle tools.
Elire and KS faced the challenge of delivering a complex, end-to-end Oracle Cloud transformation at high speed while maintaining alignment across Finance, HR, IT, and leadership teams. The scope required replacing spreadsheet-driven processes with integrated, governed EPM solutions without sacrificing accuracy, transparency, or user adoption. At the same time, KS and Elire needed to ensure strong data governance across ERP and EPM, enable long-range planning capabilities, yearly budgeting, forecasting, and support distributed ownership of processes such as reconciliations and reporting.
Elire successfully delivered Oracle Fusion Cloud EPM as a connected, enterprise-wide platform that supports planning (budgets, forecasts, LRPs), account reconciliation to support the accounting close, governance, and reporting across Kamehameha Schools. KS replaced manual, spreadsheet-based processes with dynamic, scenario-driven labor planning models that integrate directly with HCM data, supporting detailed workforce forecasting and long-range planning. Account Reconciliation was implemented as a distributed reconciliation hub, extending beyond general ledger balances to include subledgers, leases, and operational reconciliations with automated workflows and centralized oversight.
Oracle Enterprise Data Management became the foundation for enterprise data governance, enabling controlled updates, shared hierarchies, validation rules, and approval workflows that keep ERP and EPM aligned.
KS also implemented a connected cost model that synchronizes actuals, allocations, budgets, and forecasts between ERP and EPM, ensuring consistency, auditability, and transparency across financial cycles.
To support adoption and long-term value, Elire partnered with KS to define a unified reporting strategy that aligns tools, governance, and user needs, establishing a sustainable framework for report development and optimization. The result is an Oracle Fusion Cloud environment that not only supports KS’s financial and operational requirements but also reflects its values, empowering teams with trusted data, clear ownership, and scalable processes built for the future.
