COVID-19 Testing and Vaccine Reporting Update for PeopleSoft Health & Safety
Kirkland & Ellis LLP is an international law firm that serves a broad range of clients around the world in private equity, M&A, and other corporate transactions, litigation, white collar and government disputes, restructurings and intellectual property matters. Founded in 1909 in Chicago, Illinois, Kirkland & Ellis is the largest law firm in the world by revenue, the seventh-largest by number of attorneys, and is the first law firm in the world to reach $4 billion USD in revenue. As of 2021, Kirkland & Ellis ranks third on The American Lawyer’s list of profits per equity partner.
Kirkland reached out to Elire to assist them in working with their current development team on various projects including building a bolt-on application for PeopleSoft and support of their PeopleSoft system administration. Kirkland requested assistance with this particular project due to Elire’s experience working with Change Assistant and applying PUM updates. The project involved collaborating with their third-party vendor to apply the PUM updates necessary to implement the recent COVID-19 vaccine reporting and testing requirements within the Health and Safety module.
The project was under an extremely timeline due to the government mandates for proof of vaccination. The project team was tasked with downloading and applying the PUM updates, configuring the environment, making minor customizations to meet the business needs, testing, and deploying to production in two weeks. The project also involved the collaboration of a third-party hosting vendor, internal staff, and other members of the Elire team.
This project served as a true testament to utilizing the selective adoption process. The client was not on the current PUM Image release, but Elire was able to download the necessary updates and implement the new functionality in an accelerated timeline. There was a certain amount of recustomization necessary due to prior customizations, but overall it turned out to be a good opportunity to revisit those customizations and utilize Page and Field configurator. Elire, Kirkland & Ellis LLP, and the third-party hosting vendor were able to collaborate as a blended team to implement a business-critical solution on a short timeline. Go-live was accomplished on 10/21/2021.
