PeopleSoft 9.2 PUM Image Foundation Build

ITC Holdings Corp. is the nation’s largest independent electricity transmission company. Based in Novi, Mich., ITC invests in the electric transmission grid to improve system reliability, expand access to markets, lower the overall cost of delivered energy and allow new generating resources to interconnect to its transmission systems. ITC’s regulated operating subsidiaries include ITC Transmission, Michigan Electric Transmission Company, ITC Midwest and ITC Great Plains.

Scope of the Project

Implementation of the latest Finance/SCM 9.2 PUM Image delivered by Oracle so that ITC can utilize delivered functionality, deploy Workcenters, new GL workflows and enable usage of FLUID UI system wide.  Build a PTF library to transition to a high level of automated testing.  Transitioning into Continuous Delivery Model by building a Foundation to implement Elire’s CDM Methodology.

The Challenge

ITC historically followed PeopleSoft’s legacy delivery model of infrequently applying maintenance only while waiting for large major release upgrades every several years. Hence, ITC was not fully prepared to support the PeopleSoft Continuous Delivery model. Elire guided ITC apply its CDM methodology by building the foundation necessary that will allow them to strategically apply PUM Images with ease.

Success Delivered

Elire led ITC to an on-time delivery of the PUM Image and positioned ITC for short seamless deployments going forward. ITC has transformed its business systems into an agile environment. ITC now has the ability to apply new features and maintenance on their schedule. They’ve created a large PTF suite that will allow them to perform regression testing efficiently and reduce testing cycles rather significantly. It was a large success and ITC is now positioned for a PUM strategy with all future 9.2 Image releases.
