PeopleSoft Treasury and Project Costing Customization
Hennepin County has been a long-standing client of Elire since 2011, with multiple ongoing projects spanning not only Treasury but also HCM. As part of this relationship, the Elire team was tasked with customizing the PeopleSoft Treasury Subledger to include Project Costing chartfields synchronized with the General Ledger (GL). This project addressed the county’s need to track project costing chartfields seamlessly across both Treasury subledger and GL, ensuring accurate financial reporting, precise project-level cost tracking, and reconciliation capabilities.
Hennepin County requested a complex customization to their PeopleSoft system that included General Ledger chartfields not present in the delivered Treasury Subledger. Those familiar with PeopleSoft know that the Treasury module, traditionally, does not contain all the chartfields that the General Ledger does, raising a challenge for the Elire team.
This wasn’t simply a matter of adding fields to a page – it required extensive knowledge and customization to PeopleCode, different objects, and related processes throughout the system, plus comprehensive testing to ensure no upstream or downstream complications.
Elire worked closely with Hennepin County to gather and meet all requirements for customization. The team handled complex tasks and performed all the necessary work to deliver success. Upstream and downstream testing was done with both Treasury and Accounting users to ensure uniformity across the subledger and general ledger.
The project went live successfully, with Hennepin County now able to capture project-level chartfield data across the Treasury and GL modules for detailed reporting and reconciliation. This successful customization project demonstrates the continued trust and partnership between Hennepin County and Elire, highlighting Elire’s ability to deliver complex technical solutions that meet specific organizational needs.
