Oracle Cloud ERP Assessment
Channel Control Merchants (CCM), headquartered in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, is an extreme value retailer and exporter of brand-sensitive secondary market inventories. Secondary market inventories are purchased from major retailers and manufacturers and processed through CCM reverse logistics facilities. CCM meets suppliers’ specific geographic distribution requirements for resale by selling through more than 100 retail stores, or through export operations to over 40 countries worldwide. Their business model is a proponent of zero waste by working as a vertical integration with the retailer to focus on productive inventory.
Channel Control Merchants engaged Elire for a Oracle Cloud ERP assessment to review their implementation and assess their current state configuration for improvement opportunities, share best practices, and help lay out a long-term roadmap with a goal of optimizing their ERP application. Elire conducted current state business process discovery, identified disconnects and pain points in the existing configuration, recommended solutions, and implemented quick fixes for reporting and other configuration options to help the client see immediate value.
In addition, Elire developed an application expansion plan which prioritized key modules to implement based on the client’s needs. Finally, Elire leveraged our deep relationship with Oracle to facilitate demos of future modules and features and cement the roadmap strategy.
In the short time frame of the assessment, Elire was limited in our ability to make broad-ranging configuration changes, so quick wins were primarily focused on reporting. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the project was one of the first to be delivered completely remote, which presented logistical challenges. Finally, as a mid-sized organization the client had to be strategic about where to direct their IT investments.
Elire successfully delivered multiple quick wins and Cloud ERP reporting improvements during the assessment, in addition to the strategic deliverables. The team presented a comprehensive roadmap plan, disconnect resolution recommendations, and cost estimates to client leadership in March 2020 so they could begin to plan and budget for future IT projects accordingly.
