Kyriba Module Implementations – Cash & Liquidity Mangement, Core Data, and Bank Integration

Founded in 1901, Bemis Manufacturing Company is a fourth-generation, family-owned business headquartered in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. Bemis has grown from a maker of furniture and wooden wagons to an innovative international manufacturer serving markets worldwide. Bemis markets products under its own brands and provides expertise to others, producing private-label products and component parts in a wide variety of industries. They serve private consumers, commercial, medical, and industrial markets worldwide. They remain committed to innovation and environmentally friendly products and processes.

Scope of the Project

Kyriba approached Elire with Bemis due to the complex ask from Bemis for a unique cash accounting export to their ERP system. Knowing Elire’s track record of quality deliverables with ERP integrations, Elire was engaged in fall 2022. The Elire team was brought in to implement Kyriba Core Data, the Cash and Liquidity Management module, tackle Bank Relationship Management, configure Bank Statements, and implement Single Sign-On.

The Elire team completed a data import for Core Data, and oversaw two bank relationship integrations for HSBC and BMO Harris. The project goal was for Bemis to have full visibility into their cash position, centralized management of their bank account signers and authorities, and streamlined cash accounting to their AS400 ERP. When tasked with configuring bank statements, the Elire team worked to configure bank transaction codes (BTCs), integrate control options and continuity control, as well as configure automatic integration for bank statements.

For the Cash and Liquidity management module, the Elire team integrated Cash Management and Forecasting, Cash Accounting, and General Ledger Reconciliation. Following these module implementations and integrations, Elire utilized a train-the-trainer approach to get the Bemis team up to speed on their new Kyriba modules and processes.

The Challenge

Elire was working with a small team, both internally and with the Bemis team. Conforming the TMS chart of account and export configuration to Bemis’ aging AS400 ERP was a challenge. Connecting with banks was an additional roadblock, as was reaching out to banks for international bank reporting and connecting bank statements with their Kyriba application. The Elire team was able to overcome these barriers and deliver on their project requirements.

Success Delivered

Elire and Bemis successfully went live with the new modules in June 2023 on time and within budget. Training continues, and Bemis now experiences a significant reduction in manual processing and labor. Elire successfully guided Bemis to efficiently utilize the Kyriba cash accounting module so that they had full trust and comfort in using the module.

This comfortability now frees up countless hours from their previous process of manual reconciliation to focus on time-sensitive decisions for growth. Before going live with their Kyriba Implementation, Bemis was reliant on manual processing in Excel. Implementing Kyriba Cash and Liquidity Management module gave Bemis added visibility. The Bemis team was quick to learn the application and the system and are seeing excellent value from their implementation.
