Oracle Recruiting Cloud: Best Practices

Steps to optimize Oracle Recruiting Cloud include creating email campaigns, using dashboard reports, and more

Making the most out of your IT investment is a priority for most companies. A key part of fully realizing the value of your Cloud HCM investment is incorporating and using Oracle Recruiting Cloud (ORC) throughout the full lifecycle of your recruiting process. Once you’ve started utilizing your ORC environment, the next step is to fine-tune how you’re using ORC so that you’re getting the most out of your recruiting process. Below, we’ll go over best practices for Oracle Recruiting Cloud.

Best Practices for Oracle Recruiting Cloud

From a functionality standpoint, ORC is part of the HCM module suite and allows for seamless workflow with a unified platform and user experience. It shares the same structures as the core HR environment. For instance, you’re able to capture personal information from candidates that is then transferable upon hire to other HCM applications, eliminating the need for repetitive data entry.

In order to draw the best possible talent, be sure to utilize the candidate sourcing tools to their fullest. This includes creating campaigns for email or social media advertising for specific positions. From there, you can track clicks and metrics that allow you to track where it is candidates came across your job posting and then applied from.

You can also create candidate pools based on specific search criteria. This allows you to created target messaging for outreach efforts in order to invite candidates to apply.

The external recruiting site allows for a high level of customization that you can leverage for a better candidate experience. Candidates can apply with an email address that can then be validated with a pin. This allows candidates to apply for a job as quickly as possible without having to create a complete login.

From the recruiter side, one of the benefits of customization includes the use of telemetry for resume parsing and leveraging pre-screening questions to eliminate candidates that might not meet the preliminary requirements. Pre-loaded templates are available in ORC, as well as the flexibility to create your own custom landing pages for your recruiting site. Depending on the needs of your organization, this flexibility allows for personalization that can benefit the recruiter and candidate experience alike.

When it’s time to create an offer, descriptive flex fields allow you to capture specific information that your organization wants to include in the offer. Offer letters are BI Publisher templates that can be created to include the key information specific to your organization. (For more information on BI Publisher, view our blog piece on Oracle Cloud Reporting with OTBI and BI Publisher here.)

Taking the time to fully understand and use the reporting and analytics capabilities within ORC will provide your organization with valuable data you can then leverage into further developing and strategizing your recruiting methodologies. Infolets are quick, at a glance reports on the ORC home page.

Dashboards are a collection of reports that can display in-depth data based on your job role. This is embedded into the hiring work area. A recruiter can come in and get a quick snapshot of all the requisitions that are active, candidates that have applied and what status they are in, and also see which offers are out as well and their status (pending, accepted, etc.).

Emerging Technology with ORC

Oracle Recutting Cloud is one exciting area where Adaptive Intelligence (AI) and Oracle Digital Assistant (ODA) can be effectively leveraged. Using AI and ODA can enhance your recruiting process by making candidate recommendations from pulling candidate data and employee data.

Elire’s recommended uses and best practices for using AI and ODA include using AI and ODA for sourcing highly skilled candidates, as well as parsing through candidates when an opening has a large number of applicants. This saves time by alleviating the need to manually screen resumes, while still sourcing and recruiting the best possible talent.

By continuing to use adaptive intelligence, over time AI will constantly improve based on your feedback and the language you use when typing and speaking with ODA. As AI continues to learn, expect to see improved results and receive the best ranked candidates for each list and your search criteria.
