Oracle Guided Learning Features and Client Use Case

What is Oracle Guided Learning (OGL)

Oracle Guided Learning, otherwise known as OGL, is a very useful tool embedded into Oracle software that serves as a step-by-step guide for users. Imagine using a new software application, and not knowing where to start, what to do, or how to use it. OGL serves as a unique virtual assistant that guides you through exactly what you need to do and how to use this new application across all Oracle Cloud applications.

New can be unfamiliar and sometimes frustrating. As you move through different tasks, OGL will offer tips and instructions, so it isn’t overwhelming. It’s almost as though you have a teacher or tutor to guide you to live and on-demand, so you don’t have to keep searching for answers elsewhere. In order to enable OGL, you will need to obtain a separate license, but after that, it is as easy as configuring the environment to your liking. You have a wealth of resources and knowledge templates at your disposal to learn more about anything and everything pertaining to OGL.

Key Features and Benefits of Oracle Guided Learning

There are many key features to OGL such as in context learning- where users are provided with real-time support within the Oracle application itself. There is also the option of an interactive walkthrough, providing the user with interactive tutorials, explaining processes as they move forward in the application. There are many options when configuring OGL, the interactive walkthroughs are already a part of OGL’s capabilities, but OGL has an added feature of providing templates one could build from. Another key feature is personalized learning paths, where the learning experience is tailored specifically to each user’s role and usage, or tailored to the specific Oracle applications, making it more relevant for learners. Other key features include built-in help and analytics and reporting- all allowing seamless use and ease of measuring effectiveness.

Though OGL requires a separate license, OGL is already built into the Oracle application, so there is no need to install anything further. By implementing OGL, there is also naturally an increased rate of productivity and reduced training costs due to OGL’s real-time capabilities and easy accessibility. All of this contributes to the larger goal of enhanced user adoption. New users will be able to navigate Oracle’s systems with ease and will become proficient with the use of OGL.

Oracle Guided Learning Client Use Case

As Team Elire we will provide the best-in-class counseling in order to provide our client, Kamehameha Schools, with what OGL has to offer. Our change management team is experienced in OGL to implement the exact strategy the client both needs and desires. We are excited to be implementing OGL for our client, Kamehameha Schools. Our approach is simple- working jointly with the Kamehameha School Change Management Team to understand the intricacies of their training needs. Our team started by putting together a strategy and a plan of action. We then consulted with the Kamehameha Schools Change Management Team to get final approval of the plan. After putting together a plan of action, we are now deploying our resources to work towards making this plan a reality. We are currently addressing the change to the systems and users via a Change Impact Assessment.

In conjunction, we are also incorporating a Training Matrix in our approach to assess where training will be most necessary.  This training matrix combined with the change impact assessment will help us identify where OGL will be most useful. For more information about how our team of experts configure OGL, or if your team is interested in learning more, please contact the Elire team, where we can connect you with the right resources and information to better help your needs and answer your questions.
