Kyriba Training & SAP HANA Payment Formatting

Scope of the Project

Sedgwick had many years prior to Elire’s engagement, but the current Sedgwick team was not adequately trained on utilizing their Kyriba application.  tions on how to begin using Kyriba to its fullest extent.

Elire was brought in to do a reporting overview, troubleshooting, evaluate user access, and provide Sedgwick with an overall Kyriba functionality best practices training. Elire helped identify long-term needs and goals for the Sedgwick team to gradually work toward and accomplish over time.

In 2024, Elire and Sedgwick partnered to configure their Kyriba HSBC and Bank of America statement reporting as well as payments routing with connectivity as a service. Elire also assisted with their addition of SAP HANA to SAP. Their Kyriba TMS needed to quickly be connected to both SAP and SAP HANA, as their organization was dealing hundreds of files per day in their ERP.  Elire also configured Sedgwick’s bank statement reporting forwarding for all their reporting banks via Kyriba TMS.

Elire was also tasked with reviewing their current cash accounting configuration from Kyriba to SAP to seamlessly integrate their Cash Accounting into SAP HANA. After reviewing their various file formats, and transmission methods, Elire implemented best practices for Bank Statement transformation from Kyriba into SAP HANA for Sedgwick’s General Ledger Reconciliation.

The Challenge

Within their Kyriba application, there was an overabundance of legacy information present. The team needed to learn how to update their database, and also required deleting certain users in order to make them inactive. To accomplish this data cleanup of legacy information, Elire began by training the Sedgwick team on the different modules so they understood what was needed to clean up their Kyriba investment.

The Elire team also faced tight go-live deadlines and needed to navigate formatting new payment types through SAP and SAP HANA. There were multiple file naming requirements and complex payment routing that was necessary. Through Elire’s expertise, Sedgwick went live with their global payments on time with SAP HANA. Elire optimized Sedgwick’s processes allowing them to monitor all payments and statements via customized user-friendly TMS dashboards, breathing new life into their liquidity outlook.

Personnel changes required retraining the team on Kyriba’s modules. Each client has unique business processes and requirements, which made it so that Elire needed to create client-specific training materials to get the new client team up to date on their TMS modules and new ad-ons.

Success Delivered

The team successfully integrated bank statements and conducted troubleshooting and a true-up of their system and processes. The team configured reporting, cash reconciliation, user access, and led Kyriba 101 learning sessions. In the future, there is talk of implementing payments for Sweden, and having centralized payments to be managed out of their TMS.

Now, the Sedgwick team knows how to add accounts, companies, and users for all the Kyriba modules. The team was trained on data permissions, saw a reduction in unwanted/unneeded reports, and strengthened their data permissions within the modules. Elire concluded training and configurations in ooking to add a new payment type and leverage the TMS for manual payments in addition to their payment routing.
