Medical Device Manufacturer

Oracle Planning Implementation

Scope of work

A leading Medical Device Manufacturer engaged Elire in 2021 to modernize its financial consolidation process by replacing an outdated Hyperion Enterprise system that was reliant on a Citrix-based environment and legacy infrastructure. To address both current and future business needs, Elire implemented Oracle’s Financial Close and Consolidation Cloud Service (FCCS), providing a scalable, cloud-based solution aligned with global reporting standards.

The new environment was integrated with SAP data from the parent company and financial data from smaller international entities. Elire also rebuilt intercompany transaction and sales elimination logic, ensuring accurate consolidation across global operations. Legacy structures and historical data were successfully migrated and enhanced with expanded dimensionality, while new multi-currency P&L reporting replaced manual spreadsheets. Additionally, integration was established with the parent company’s Hyperion Financial Management system to maintain continuity in corporate reporting.

Challenge

The client’s previous consolidation platform posed significant operational risks and inefficiencies. The application depended on obsolete systems that were difficult to maintain, and upgrades required substantial effort. At the same time, the client needed to preserve established business logic and data integrations while moving to a scalable, future-ready platform.

Success Delivered

Elire’s solution modernized the client’s consolidation capabilities by deploying FCCS in a way that retained critical functionality while introducing flexibility for growth. The migration extended legacy structures with enhanced dimensionality, enabling more robust and adaptable reporting. Integration with SAP and their parent company’s Hyperion solution ensured seamless data flow and financial alignment across global entities.

Additionally, Elire provided comprehensive training, enabling the client’s finance team to manage the new solution independently. Manual spreadsheet-based reporting was fully replaced with automated, multi-currency reports, improving efficiency and accuracy. The result is a scalable, compliant, and future-proof consolidation platform designed to support global operations for years to come.
