PeopleSoft Health Center Implementation 

Scope of work

Jack Henry re-engaged Elire after an unsatisfactory experience with other vendors, initially seeking support for their PeopleSoft (PS) Admin role and PS Enterprise Learning Management (ELM) platform. The project evolved to include the implementation of Oracle’s PeopleSoft Health Center module. The new PeopleSoft module, a PIA solution, uses dashboards and real-time analytics reporting to monitor the multitude of servers supporting JH’s PeopleSoft platforms, including HCM, Financials, and ELM. 

Elire’s focus was to complete a rapid, eight-week installation and configuration of the Health Center module, followed by a short, targeted knowledge transfer to JH’s internal team. Due to Jack Henry’s existing expertise in PeopleSoft, they quickly adapted, utilizing Elire’s documentation of both technical and functional elements to manage the Health Center module independently. 

The Challenge

One of the primary challenges encountered during this project was the need to coordinate the Health Center implementation alongside other critical projects JH had in progress. To mitigate conflicts, the go-live date was extended by three weeks to allow Elire the necessary flexibility to ensure all components were implemented smoothly.  

Additionally, a last-minute request arose to wrap the entire Health Center setup in SSL security. The project addition introduced new technical hurdles, as SSL is supported but rarely implemented within internal firewalls and requires additional configuration. Fortunately, the extended timeline allowed Elire to address and resolve these issues without further delays or impact on the project’s scope. 

Success Delivered

Despite the adjusted timeline, the project concluded successfully and under budget by 50%, thanks to resource efficiency and the Health Center’s streamlined installation process. Although the go-live date was missed due to conflicts with other project schedules, Elire successfully implemented PUM 50, PeopleTools 8.60.15, and integrated OpenSearch, OpenSearch Dashboards, and Logstash 2.4 within the Health Center module. 

These enhancements provided Jack Henry with improved real-time monitoring capabilities, giving their team better visibility into server health and a more efficient way to address system issues. Jack Henry noted they were pleased with the significant improvement in reporting capabilities over the previous PeopleSoft Performance Monitoring (PPM) solution. Elire’s trusted implementation approach and consistent support were met with positive feedback from JH, who indicated overall satisfaction with the engagement. 

Following this project, Elire has already begun additional initiatives with Jack Henry, including Managed Services backfill support and an AP Optimization initiative.
