Elire Treasury Experience: Day 1 in Review

Thank you to all of those able to attend day 1 of the Elire Treasury Experience! Today we saw five sessions hosted by our Elire Treasury experts and our friendSeth M. Marlowe of Wells Fargo, and Sean McCarty, MBA of FIS Global.

To recap, we kicked things off this morning with our keynote session, “Building the Digital Treasurer: Understanding the Changing Global Treasury Landscape” presented by Seth M. Marlowe.

Following our keynote, Elire Treasury Experts Karen Willis and Dayton Paul hosted the “Strategy Session: A Paradigm Shift in Treasury Technology.” They led the discussion on how the world of Treasury has been revolutionized by APIs, Blockchain, and AI technologies, as well as reviewed the real-world strategic application of these new products, including ROI and TCO impacts for implementing them.

After lunch, our friends at FIS Global presented “2021 Treasury Priorities: Immunizing and Digitizing Treasury in 2020.” As market volatility and economic uncertainty continue into 2021, treasurers are rethinking everything they do, from basic liquidity management to complex foreign exchange and interest rate risk management. In this session with FIS Global, attendees learned how the pandemic is a force for change in Treasury and how treasurers can navigate through with a strategic focus on process, technology, and policy improvements.

Following our partner session, Elire’s very own Dayton Paul presented the “Strategy Session:  Improving Treasury Management through Data Analytics” which detailed how managing cash during COVID-19 has presented a series of unprecedented challenges to Treasury organizations all over the world. COVID-19 has brought to light the inaccuracies in data sets, accentuated the lack of preparedness and flexibility when encountering black swan type data models, and highlighted the limitations of the analytical tools that drive rapid decision making. In this presentation, Dayton covered the critical capabilities the treasury must develop to establish resilient cash management practices that can weather these aberrant, quickly developing periods of uncertainty.

To wrap up the day Elire PartneAlvaro Sanson presented a Product Overview of PeopleSoft Cash Management, providing a demonstration and insights into this useful tool.
